It Takes A Village / Token

Pop references and bright color inject social comment into Randy Kart’s It Takes a Village token series. Kart's work acts as a tangible moment, a chronicle of exploration, as he negotiates with existence in the metaverse. 

He continues to question the power of technology in a faceless community. The artist explains, “As we move into an anonymous digital existence, new rules will need to be established.  Practices that have provided social stability throughout the ages will need to be reevaluated and reexamined. If your brain treats the virtual world as if it’s real, how will common social practices stand up. It brings me to the question - What will people do when we think no one is watching?”
